On Saturday, my husband came home with a gorgeous bunch of roses. I had checked out “The Digital Photography Book” by Scott Kelby and wanted to try my hand at photographing floral shots. I decided to try an exercise of flowers on a black background (pg. 30). I used his tip of using natural diffused lighting (pg. 32) and a black piece of velour-type fabric. It worked like a charm and I got several nice shots of my beautiful roses. Here is one of my favorite shots.
The only post-processing I did was to edit out the lint in Photoshop Elements.
