I’ve been really busy with work and kids with hubby on a business trip. And it has been super hot and muggy lately. (I know nothing like what my family down in Texas are used to!)

I hope to have time tonight and tomorrow to catch up my blogging friends! I miss seeing all of your beautiful and inspiring photos!

2/31: Tea for Two

I was never much of a hot tea drinker. Southern sweet iced tea – yes. You may know the kind… so sweet that it really is a little tea with your sugar kind of sweet.

But hot tea – not really.

So a few months back I spotted this beautiful tea set at Whole Foods. I could not justify paying the price for the set even with the stove-top kettle if I didn’t drink tea.

It was then that I decided I should give hot tea another try. This set now gets daily evening use.

Organic Japanese Green Tea for hubby and organic Mother’s Milk with a touch of honey for me . Hmmm…

1/31: My Home series

I’m a stay-at-home mom of small children so I often see the same 4 walls day in and day out. During this month, I’ve decided to challenge myself to look at my immediate environment differently.

My parents bought this 6 foot cigar Indian when I was a small child. I remember it scaring the daylights out of me as a kid. His eyes always seemed to follow me.

2 years ago, my parents handed him down to us. Not sure if this is a blessing or not LOL but he definitely has been a source of conversation for guests. He stands silently in the front room within view of the window guarding our home.

He still creeps me out sometimes…

Inside the old Swedish Bible

I wonder what the personal inscription says. The Bible verse that was noted was 1 John 2:17:

And this world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever. (NLT)

What lives have been blessed by this old Bible?

Swedish Bible

Recently I answered a Freecycle ad for a Swedish Bible. Not that we really need another Bible (we own 8 various ones) or that we could read the Swedish language, but I answered anyway. I wanted to see what one looked like. What I found was a treasure.

It was a sunny but chilly day when I picked this up from a friendly gentleman. He handed over into my hands a Book that was weathered and crumbling in my hands. I held it gently as I opened it up to the front page. A handwritten inscription adorned the page. In Swedish, it was dated 1912 and had verse 1 John 2:17.

I took this Bible home and it sits upon our table in our reading room. I gaze upon it wondering what lives did this Good Book guide. Somehow, I feel connected to these Christians of a different time and I look forward to the hope that perhaps one day I will get to meet the author of the inscription in Heaven.

On hubby’s new toy came my Mother’s Day dinner. The steaks were grilled in a garlic/cracked peppercorn marinade. They were so good!
